I love this place. It's locally owned, so I'll support my neighbor before I'll support a corporate breakfast diner. The owner hustles and keeps things moving. The staff is fast and super friendly. There is a wait on busy mornings, but if you plan ahead it's avoidable. In either case, the wait is short and the staff makes up for it by getting your food out lightning fast. We've celebrated birthdays there three times in the last year, and though they don't do special candle lit things (come on all ya'll, it's a breakfast diner) the server still went out of her way to make it special for us herself. The food is great, and again, I can't say how nice and fast the staff is.
Great small business. Staff knows us by name when we walk in the door. They cater to children and make them feel like family. Jimmy's is always packed and people don't mind to wait because they know how great the food is!
These are seriously the best pancakes ever. They melt in your mouth! The other breakfast options are great as well, although I wouldn't recommend the eggs benedict.
Also when we were there an elderly gentleman had a complaint about the syrup should be served warm, like the previous owners. I do not know exactly what was said, but the son of that elderly gentleman was not very happy and told the new owner to f*** off. The wait staff was very nice and polite. My one star is for the taste, price and the rudeness of the owner.
I came In from oregon to visit family, we came her for breakfast, we all left full and satisfied, there was actually too much. Very large portions for a small price. It all tastes fresh and homemade.
We went to the "New" Moline location. And I can tell you I will not be going back. My wife ordered an omelette, it was made with powdered eggs, and no cheese. I ordered the pecan waffle, not thinking much of it, that is what I got, a single waffle that was $8.50. Yes, for a single waffle it was $8.50. And it was a normal Belgium waffle, not an extra deep one or even large, and the taste was ok. I think Bisquick makes just as good if not better waffle. My daughter got one egg (out of a box), hash browns (little under done), and a sausage patty (best part of all meals).
