I had the classic enchilada. Chorizo peas and such. I thought it was great. I would have liked the salsa to be a bit thicker, but that is a personal thing. Had hot and mild sauce at the table before my iced tea. Good price for the portion size. I will be back if I make it back in the area.
Worst experience, ever. I really hate to give bad reviews unless it's needed, and I feel it's needed this time. My mom, ten month old daughter and I went here today. I ordered the lunch buffet with eager for $10.49 and my mom got an order of tacos and a soda. I got my TEN MONTH OLD daughter a tortilla, a little meat and some black olives. She didn't touch. Not one bit. She actually threw it on the ground (which I asked the waitress if I could have a broom or something so I could clean it up and she looked at the ground, looked irritated and then said it's fine she'll get it later, I picked up what I could of the food anyway.) So as I said, my daughter didn't eat any of the food. I figured since I got the $10.49 lunch buffet, I'd be okay to give her a little bit, too. I guess not because for that barely ONE little taco, we were charged $5.49!!!! For a kids one taco meal (which apparently includes fries and a drink, which we didn't get because we didn't order this meal. I only gave her some taco from the taco bar since I was getting it anyway).
I thought it was safe to assume that anywhere you go, most kids even under 5 eat free, and especially if they're under ONE year! I guess not here!!! The cashier did nothing about it when we brought it up. She just stopped talking to us. My mom called to speak to a manager and he says 'you have to understand that if she threw the taco on the floor, that's money down the drain for me.' I totally get that, but it wasn't even a full taco and I got the taco buffet anyway!! So it shouldn't have mattered.
Along with all of that, never was asked for a refill or anything. This is the worst service I've ever had, which sucks because we love Rudys! Not this one anymore! Thank goodness there's more in the QC!!!

The recipes have apparently been changed, which can be nice, but in this case it's a failure. We ordered beef enchiladas, a Rudy's Platter, and beans & rice. The enchiladas tasted fine (although I believe something from this visit made me sick for 2 days) but the beans AND rice are different and no good. The beans are runny and the rice is dry with poor seasonings. The Rudy's Platter... The shredded beef burrito did not taste like a shredded beef burrito not sure how we would describe that one. When I asked about recipes changing, I was treated as though I slapped the waitress in the face. Just a bad visit but I won't be back because of these reasons. Hopefully a different location can redeem this restaurant I grew up eating!
